With four exceptional and very different businesses shortlisted, the judges found it tough going deciding on the overall winner of the T-Mobile Startups Business of the Year. However, Goingreen stood out as an exceptional new business and worthy winner of the £5,000 cash prize. The judges believe that Goingreen's innovative G-Wiz product will be a major choice of transport in the future and will have a fantastic impact on all local communities. In preparation, Goingreen have been very diligent in ensuring all barriers to success have been tackled and have created a credible alternative to traditional forms of transport. In addition, the judges were impressed by the bravery of a business that is directly challenging the large automobile corporations. Already in this early phase of production, Goingreen is achieving good early sales numbers. The team has been built on a range of highly qualified experience and they have shown significant guts and foresight to take on this very challenging whilst exciting environmentally focused business. The electric car will be the future and Goingreen are making early, inspirational steps to ensure their product leads the pack.

The other shortlisted finalists for the overall winner were:
Brainjuicer, One Small Step One Giant leap and UK Sports & Leisure Ltd
