Oil and Vinegar is an original retailing business offering an extensive range of high quality culinary delights. After some extensive location research, Katharine Hammond launched the Chichester franchise in November 2004 and has enjoyed instant success.

Judges comments
The judges were particularly impressed with Katherineâs commitment and bravery in risking everything to make her business work. After considerable location research she had to fight hard to see off the interest that several large multinational retail companies were showing in her retail space. Once secured, her energy and drive have seen the business become the most successful UK franchisee. Early in 2005 she was invited to join the companyâs marketing advisory committee and has already secured a second franchise in Guildford.
